RYA Safety Boat

For competent powerboat drivers, this course teaches you how to provide safety cover for a variety of watersports. Most of the course time is spent afloat learning and practicing techniques to rescue variety of watercraft from different situations, including sailing dinghies, windsurfers, and canoes. The course also looks at basic safety management of events and activities, and dealing with larger numbers of dinghies and multiple rescue boats.

9:30 am - 5:00 pm each day

What do you need to bring?

  • Warm layers

  • Tough boots or shoes, ideally waterproof

  • Lunch (kettle and microwave available)

  • Waterproof jacket and trousers

  • Buoyancy aid

  • Warm drinks and biscuits during the course
